BBQ pits of Texas to the busy streets of New York, sausage has made its way into the hearts and stomachs of most Americans. What is Halal Sausage?

For those of you who are not familiar with the term ‘halal’, let us begin by telling you that it is not a flavor. Halal is an Arabic term that is roughly translated as ‘permitted’ or lawful. In the case of sausage, it applies to the meat. Muslims are only permitted to consume that is halal. For any kind of meat (which does not apply to pork) to be considered halal, it needs to be adhering to certain conditions. Easy Halal Sausage Recipes:

Before we begin let us tell you that these recipes apply to the sausage that isn’t halal as well. Now let’s get started.

Gumbo:

Are you a fan of Cajun food? Our spicy jalapeno halal sausage is perfect for your gumbo. An easy recipe is simply to chop up some celery, carrots, garlic, and onions and cook them in the roux ( a roux is nothing but a mix of oil and flour cooked together). When making gumbo, be sure to make a dark roux. Once you’ve sweated out your veggies in the roux, add in your favorite stock (chicken or beef) and simmer.

Like texas style BBQ, a gumbo is cooked low and slow. Add in our chopped spicy halal sausage along with some fresh thyme, and black pepper, and let it cook out. If you are going for a traditional Gumbo dish then you cannot overcook it. You can cook it for as long as you want but in case you don’t have all the time in the world, we would advise you to cook it for 2 to 3 hours.

Gumbo is a wholesome meal that you can enjoy with your whole family. It is comfort food that you can store and tastes even better the following day. Choose your sausage and enjoy your gumbo with your family and friends.

Breakfast Sausage:

We are not only talking about breakfast sausage but also leftover sausage for breakfast. Chop ‘em up and put ‘em inside your omelet or simply keep them on the side with your scrambled eggs. Rich in protein and packed full of flavor they are an amazing way to start your day. If you like breakfast food you can have your halal sausage with a side of sunny-side-up eggs whenever you feel like it. You won’t regret it.

Sausage Stir Fry:

Sausage has the quality to elevate a simple dish with its unique flavor. If you are looking to keep things healthy and simple. We suggest stir-frying some veggies with some broken-up halal sausage. You can even choose to finish’em up in the oven and add a bit of a honey glaze to get them all sweet and crispy. In case you’re into an oriental stir fry, add a splash of soy and some bird’s eye chili to put a bit of life into that sausage.

Sausage Wraps, Sandwiches, and Sliders:

The easiest way to whip up a quick snack. Simply slice up some sausage and add in your favorite veggies and condiments, wrap’em up and you’ve got yourself a tasty lunch or dinner. You can experiment with your condiments and dressings, however, the star of the show will be the halal sausage. If you have guests coming over, toast some bread, add our halal sausage and your favorite kind of cheese, put’em in the oven for 8 to 10 mins at about 400 degrees, and voila, you have your appetizer ready to serve.

Sausage Hot Pot:

Who does not love a one-pot recipe? Chop up some onions and carrots along with your sausage in a pan, sweat’em out for a while, add in your favorite spices and then simply put in rice and water and wait for it to become a meal in itself. In case you’re having ethnic cravings, you can use your blend of oriental or Indian spices to make your sausage pulao. That’s right. It is as good as it sounds.
